Hi Paul, It sounds like your Serial No. is between 213 and 1622 with the trim crank mounted on the instrument panel.
In any event, yes, there are instructions for adjustment in the Service Manual. Skyport and Univair are the immediate sources that come to mind. You should also get the Ercoupe Bulletins and Memoranda (available from the same sources). In the latter, refer to ESM No. 19 for the early trim information.
