If you could give me a little more information about the 337 you have I
could give you a better answer. Basically, any 337 must be justified by
approved data. If the 337 is associated with an STC, an AD, or other FAA
approved data, then you can use that data to justify your 337 as well.
(STC's must be purchased or otherwise legitimately obtained from the STC
holder). If the basis for approval is a field approval (look in block 3 of
the 337), then you will need to convince your FSDO to grant you the same
approval based on the same data used for the original approval, which may or
may not be available to you.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] re; 337's

This is important. Somebody please respond!
If an Ercoupe of the same model as mine has an approved 337 (major repair
and alteration).
What is the procedure regarding the FAA for me seeking a 337 for the same
kind of work
that I want to do on my plane?
Thank you,
Ed
