Mike.

I dare to disagree.

On a metal wing you have no damage at all - it happened to me not only ones
that someone accidentally stepped onto the wing. Unless someone dances in high
heels on the wing. But then your fabric wing would be in need of getting a new
expensive recover job, while the metal wing, being stronger just has a few
dents.

A metal wing covering is stronger in all aspects. So strong that it keeps the
dents after hail. But it is also easier to repair if ever needed.

As a side note on N3041H Dave Englishes aircraft, at some time in the past
someone had stepped off the walkway onto the wing and there were several spots
of ringworm. After passing the punch test it was a simple process to rejuvinate
the butyrite and repaint the area. If these had been metal wings and the same
damage had been done it would have required extensive repairs.
