WRB,
Well I spoke lengthy to Ken Hannum the owner of the Sebring Ercoupe for 25
minutes (he's in his eighties & a nice guy too)
Told me the whole story regarding the crash. Mentioned that parts of the
plane was shipped to Washington as well as photos taken of all his log books.
To his knowledge no buckets were ever installed or were there additional
holes in the spar. The aircraft was perfectly maintained. He did mention that
the passenger was an adventurous sort and drove motorcycles as a so called
hot rod. The pilot-was a very dear friend of the owner was considered by
most to be a very responsible pilot who by all that flew with him, "He's a
pilots pilot," so they said.
Anyway that's the story direct from the owners mouth, He and I will keep in
touch and he'll let me know if anything develops. Fly safely,
Prof Ed
