All,
I might point out that the AD mentions not all Ercoupes to be affected.(Applies to All 415 Series Aircraft Ercoupes Up to and Including Serial Number 3642 Which Incorporate Fuel Pumps With a Metal Filter Bowl, and Bearing AC P/N 1539076 on the Pump Mounting Flange.) >From serial number 3643 on there must have been used either a different pump >or theses planes had the AD already implemented. Not really clear here. I looked at Service memorandum 42 that recommends the same procedure and illustrates it even, let my mechanic know about that and he told me not to worry since the AD does not apply to my plane due to the serial number and also the routing of the fuel lines are not interfering with nose bowl or propeller. So we did not fix what was not broken. It would also be hard to route the fuel lines the way as suggested without the new elbows mentioned. So make sure that the AD applies to your aircraft. Hartmut By the way, most ADs that apply to 415 Ercoupe can be seen here: http://www.ercoupe.info/?n=Main.SampleAdList To: [email protected] From: [email protected] Date: Thu, 19 Nov 2009 13:20:56 +0000 Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Re: AD on Fuel pump http://www.ercoupe.net/ads/47_20_03.html Kevin1 --- In [email protected], "Glen Davis" <g...@...> wrote: > > Gang > > I noticed on an Ercoupe belonging to a friend that the fuel pump had not been > rotated, as per the AD, to move it farther away from the prop.
