I’ve seen it said by someone I respect (sorry, I can’t remember just
who) and I have witnessed myself (through hundreds of repetitions)
that, IF the Goodyear brakes are in correct condition, they WILL hold
during a full power runup.
I’d suggest that, if your brakes won’t hold for a full power runup,
you should find out why and fix it.
Goodyears may not be as good as Clevelands, but they are certainly
not as bad as the assertion above.
