Glen,

How do you balance the control surfaces in a 'coupe . Do you know? Does anyone
know?

The only thing I know is how the plane will be rigged and how to determine any
further adjustments with test flights and bending the aileron trailing edge a
bit up or down.

But balancing?

Hi Linda

A few more questions to ask and get the answers in writing (I know you know
that!).

1. Will the control surfaces be re-balanced when installed (legal requirement).
2. Any additional cost for addressing corrosion found after stripping?
3. Will the wing walks compound be removed and replaced with new?
4. Will any small dents or dimples be filled prior to painting? (You should
carefully note all these locations prior to bringing it to the shop)
5. Will they paint the window bow (the metal strap which holds the windshield
in place)?
6. When they repaint or reapply the N number, do you have a choice of fonts and
styles?
7. I highly recommend you inspect their progress on a regular basis. At the
least, check it after the stripping to make sure ALL the paint has been removed
from every nook and cranny. Inspect it again after they tape off the design
and make sure it is taped exactly like the design you provided to them.

The chances are you will only paint your plane once in your time of ownership.
Think really hard about the paint scheme and colors...you will have to live
with it for a long time (similar to choosing a lover!).
