I would also suggest Birch plywood, but specifically Baltic Birch ply, it is
made up of multiple layers of veneer rather than the 3 layers typical for 1/4"
ply. Also known as Finnish or Russian ply, it is bonded with Resorcinol glue,
which is water resistant, glue lines show dark brown. It would be what Aircraft
Spruce sells, but should be available at a good local lumber supplier.

Hey Dave: If all else fails, use marine plywood. It is a much better quality
and stronger than regular plywood, and looks pretty good when finished.

    Folks,

Any recommendations for floor board replacement material other than
standard plywood? I'd like something that will hold up a little better, not
add weight, and maybe look better in case we decide to finish the surface
instead of covering it with carpet. Maybe a hardwood veneer?

    Thanks,
    Dave
