Actually, I have seen one C-85 that leaked no oil.

John Wright, Jr., flew from Iowa down to Oklahoma for the National
Convention many years ago. I watched as he parked the plane and propped
open the cowl for inspection in the competition.

His engine was painted white. I though to myself, 'He's got a lot of
gall!' Then, I looked closely at his plane.

There was not a drop of oil on the engine or anywhere else.

John wiped a few bugs off the leading edge and won the competition.
And, I've seen him repeat that performance.

In more recent years, he's stopped bringing his plane to National
Conventions to give others a chance to win. Even when he explicitly and
energetically refused to allow his plane in competition, he kept winning
the people's choice award.

He does VERY good work when he works on other people's planes, too. I'd
guess his work accounts for a pretty big percent of National Convention
winners over the last 30 years.
