I have both my 9 gallon wing tanks off and I am about to start rebuilding them.
But before I start drilling, I want to find new replacements for the finger
strainer/banjo fitting/drain boss. Aircraft spruce has a neat swiveling banjo
fitting, but it does not look like it would accomodate a finger strainer.

The drain boss riveted in the tank is original and shows signs of corrosion on
two rivets. (Much like Syd's presentation at Oshkosh showed. The banjo fitting
looks like a AN-part that had some epoxy sealant applied around it at some
point, and I would rather not "clean it up" and re-use it if I can. The tanks
did not leak, but a replacement of the fuel gauge with some broken off screw
heads prompted a removal and spar inspection while they were off.

The questions to the group are...
(A)Did the 9 gallon wing tanks originally have a finger strainer in the exit
(or was this a "mod")
(B)I could drill out / clean up and refit the original threaded boss in the
bottom of the tank, but I would rather replace with new if available... are
there any sources or AN#'s for this. Matching the rivet holes to the tank holes
would be important to keep from having to use a bunch of sealant here.
(C)Same goes for the threaded banjo fitting / finger strainer hardware. Is
there a AN# or new part source for this if it was intended to be there in the
first place.
