this should not be an issue as the brakes are "self adjusting" in that
the pistons do not retract more than enough to release the pressure on
the disk.  When the pucks wear too much tghe pistons bottom out and
there is no braking pressure, although the pedal still feels solid.

9 times out of 10 this can be corrected by bleeding from the bottom up. 
(Don't even waste time trying to bleed from the top down.)  The last
time out of 10 it is the master cylinder not returning enough to open
the passage from the master back to the reservoir.
