I too, was new to Ercoupe when I bought mine. Yes, I did it backwards. I bought
a Forney F1 that John Wright Jr. was going thru, then I tried to get my medical
back. After 30 yrs of only flying on the computer, I had had several
surgeries, one being heart bypass and a bout with cancer. After i go my
medical back I took all my refresher and BFR in a Cessna 150, because all the
numbers were very close to that of the "coupe". I read every thing I could find
on the coupe for landing techniques,a d found it all very useful.
On the day my plane was delivered to me, my check out consisted of four
landings. Because of all the outside reading that I had done, I was prepared
for the flying like a Rock garbage. I saw my landing pattern was WAY too high,
but because of my past Piper experience, I found that the sink was not as
excessive as I had been led to believe. I did " a go around", and and the next
three landings were right on. I flew my instuctor back home, and had my first
cross country flight the same day.
With 650 hrs, and much of it in a 150, I wouldn't think you would have any
troubles. in the adjustment.
