Donald and all and any newbies, My comment was not intended for newbies, as we
oldies encourage questions and posts of ones knowledge and experience, but
rather to the folks that post opinions on matters that require facts and
documentation that often just stir the pot. THe issue of Non TSO items as far
as Ercoupes go is clear as there was no TSO items when it was certified and as
such, those items that came with a Coupe can be replaced by equally non TSO
aircraft parts. Additionally, I know of no FAA reg, AD, Mfg document that list
any other requirement. Granted, I have not read every FAA reg, only those
pertaining to my Coupe. Installing items that were not on the aircraft when
delivered will require a 337 or in some cases just an entry and signature by
the AP/AI depending on what the part is. And I hope that I have not stirred up
the stuff by my post. I do not mean to insult, demean or otherwise infer any
negativity to anyone by my statements.

True, but regardless of how much us newbies search the archives, we do learn
much from the rehash. I do imagine it gets to be boring for the old timers
though. My personal thanks to those who have to put up with the old issues for
my benefit..
I think I can almost hear the moans when I bring up some old issue that has
been rehashed many times, if I do please refer me to the archives. I am
surprised how often I am researching some issue, and up comes this forum on
Google! Big help.
