Hi Tony,

Which model Ercoupe and with which engine?

For the 65 and 75hp C Models you pretty much have to work from data given in the Ercoupe Instruction Manual and mark up a 415-D Manual. The latter figures are derived at a gross weight of 1400 lbs., so are conservative at 1360 (Light Sport STC) or 1260 lbs. (415-C gross).

Since it is relatively rare to have to land or take off over a 50' obstacle these days, you may want to know minimum landing ground roll and minimum take-off run. The "bottom line" is that you have to work out a way of measuring that which you and your plane can accomplish.

Some of Fred Weick's papers show a "minimum take-off run" of 728' for a 415-C with a wood Sensenich prop (performance corrected to standard day conditions) at 1400 lbs. and 75hp. I seem to recall that factory test pilots could land and stop without damage on a paved surface in about 300', but that may have been at 1260 lbs. gross.

Can anyone tell me how I can do a performance chart for take off's and landing's in a Ercoupe? What information do I need and where can I get it. Any help would be great.

Thanks You,

Tony
