Hartmut, I wrote the following in April of 2009:
The C-85 with the 0-200 crank STC put out plenty of power. It handled the 71/52 prop with ease just as Hartmut said it would. The flight was at Boyceville, WI (3T3). Elevation 967 MSL. At run-up the full power ststic RPM was a healthy 2250. Had excellent acceleration and jumped off the runway at 60 MPH going to 80 MPH and climbing at 700 FPM for 1000 ft. with close to the 1320 gross. Made a full power level run at 1960 MSL with a temp of 40F and the engine maxed out at 2500 RPM. This is a fresh engine and prop not yet broken in. Now in January of 2010 I get 105 MPH at 2350 RPM which is the RPM I use for cross country cruse. I also got the same 105 MPH at 2350 last year in April. The weather has been bad in Hayward, WI most of this winter so I just put the plane away for the winter. The engine now has 12 hours on it and I will repeat the above at 25 hours. I am told that they closed Tempelhoff? I was a radio operator on a C-47 and we flew into Tempelhoff on a daily schedule in 1954/55. I made the trip about once a week from Frankfurt. I truly enjoyed Berlin. Al Flora N94748 (HYR)
