I don't know the thickness but the new one is physically different, not just thicker. It has more bends and less cut outs that make it stronger. I am in the process of putting a new one in but it is at the airport and I am not so I can't measure it now. Call Skyport, they have them and can measure one for you. If you are wanting to know if you have new or old style, send me or post a photo and I will take a look at it.
