My spinner also cracked so I also got a new one and bought the forward
bulkhead, both from Univair. The forward bulkhead is a disc that fits
inside the spinner forward of the prop. The forward bulkhead has a
flange around the outside of it with holes that line up with the holes
in the new spinner so it can be fastened. So, you end up with an aft
bulkhead (back plate) behind the prop and a forward bulkhead (plate)
ahead of the prop. Get the forward bulkhead and install it or I would
suspect you will eventually have another cracked spinner.

with the proper screws (should I back them with some Tinnerman nuts?)
but with 4 extra holes midway down the spinner. Since my old spinner had
none such I contacted Univair and they said the 4 holes were to attach
to a forward bulkhead which was introduced to stop the frequent spinner
cracking. Would someone wise me up on this forward bulkhead especially
on how it is attached to the spinner? I understand that its role is to
stiffen the spinner. Thank you.
