Agreed. Like the old joke about how it is safest to fly in the middle of the 
air. Stay away from the edges, which are defined by the ground, mountains, 
oceans and interstellar space. 

Ultimate solution to the issue of potential spar and center section corrosion? 
Nah... The ultimate solution is to repair or replace the corroded parts. Better 
to fix a problem than to prepare for the emergency it is going to cause.

But if a BRS system were light and cost effective, many would consider it. I'm 
all for having as many ways out of tight situations as possible.

If someone wants a chute, why not just modify a seat pan to accommodate 
seat-pack parachutes? It would be much easier, cheaper and I suspect would get 
a field approval without much hassle.
