Now, a tail dragger in the hands of a good pilot might be as safe as the nose wheel Ercoupe. But it was not his design intentions. That's why. But hey. Some folks just love tail draggers and if they wanted an Ercoupe that was a tail dragger then I don't see the big deal. It still flies and may even fly better than some of ours. I am sure that he put in brakes that controlled one wheel at a time just like a Cessna - that way he can make turns on the ground.
