I posted my comment. It is the cover for the hole in the cowl. When the Ercoupes got radios, they needed shielded ignition wires to ground the static. The cowl was too small, so a hole was cut in the top. Then this cover was added. I tell the lookenpeepers at the airport that they are machine gun covers... :-) Percy in SE Bama
