Donald, Hate to state the obvious here, but make sure it's wired correctly. Mine had one too when I bought it, but it didn't work. My alternator system was a mess; no 337 on the alternator conversion, frying electronics, etc. The previous owner thought it was a bad voltage regulator and replaced it with a Zeftronics regulator, but we were still popping the main power CB when I would turn the master switch on. My AI and I checked the wiring and found that the original voltage regulator wiring did not have the sensing wire to the main bus hooked up, and the generator light was completely disconnected. I replaced the whole system with a Plane Power alternator and regulator that included a new light and re-wired the charging system. Mine will come on whenever the master is on and the generator is not charging, but it also comes on when the generator is operating and I've accidentally bumped the master switch to OFF, which is a nice feature. The generator light is a nice feature, especially when the ammeter is mounted on the far RH side of the panel like mine.
Good luck, Dave --- In [email protected], "Donald" <dongen...@...> wrote: > > My coupe has a "generator light" that apparently has been added, that > apparently should glow when the master is on and engine not running, or when > the generator stops charging when running. I see Skyport sells such a kit. > When I turn the master on, the light does not come on. Should it?
