Of the Ercoupes I have owned, there has been a fuel shut off valve on the right wing tank close to where the fuel line exits the tank. It sometimes can't be seen without removing the seat bottom. lee browning Jack. There should be a valve between the tanks and the fuel pump. It is supposed to be on the right hand side , under your dash on the right wall. If it is not there , It should be, as you have no source of shutoff to the fuel pump. You probably have two other issues also. Your carb. float level neddle and seat may not be seating and the block valve under you dash from the header tank to the carb, may not be shuting off completely.
