My bubble windshield has a gasket along the bottom edge that has gotten hard and shrunk. I have the new rubber strip and am about to install it, but I have a question. The current rubber seal has screws about every 5 inches thru the rubber into the cowling. Are these screws necessary? Are they part of the installation or someones "cure" for the shrinking?
