I think this is a good "guide" for determing weight increase of metalized 
wings, however I suspect it varies on different planes.  I have obtained the 
FAA CD on about 25 planes, in in the records there are claims ranging from no 
change to empty weight to claims of nearly 100 lbs increase.  I suspect most 
all were just guesses by someone for the paperwork though.  I did notice that 
in the weight and balance sheets onfile, the metal wing coupes usually had a 
substantial increase in empty weight somehow.  Sometimes the .016 leading edge 
was replaced with .020 thickness, apparently the STC specs .020 for the wing 
surface.  Met-Co-Air Corp STC SA4 839 was at least one of the authorizations 
used.
