this is a problem with the Alon's. I had made plans to install a NACA style
air vent in the aft portion of the tail cone of my Alon, but I never got around
to the engineering of it all. The vents also whistle quite loudly in the Alon
windshield, and cost about 3 MPH in airspeed.

  David,

  Window air vent? Hmmm.

I wouldn't have been able to **feel** a window air vent in my Coupe. Any
air from that source would have been insignificant compared to my cabin air
  vent.

The intake for my cabin air vent was on the front of the cowl where the prop
comes *very* close to the nose bowl. Behind the screened opening, the
tubing routed the air to the valve about a foot above the floor on my
  firewall.

On every turn of the prop, high pressure air would be squeezed into that
intake opening. My cabin air brought LOTS of cool air into my cabin. As I
had an Ercoupe, I could enhance that airflow by opening my door/windows a
few inches at the top center to let the air out in a low pressure zone.

With an Alon, you don't have the huge air exit I could make on the Coupe,
but you should be able to get all the fresh air you want with an air intake
like my Coupe. Perhaps an improved air exit vent could help you more than
  window vents.
