Dave, Once jacked up, I put a jack stand under the extra length of the bar
which is inserted through the knee. Then I could take the lifting jack away to
make room to work on the gear assembly.
I also had to weld a small ring on the bar to fit into the jacking "head" so as
to be stable. You man have to make some similar adaptation for the jack you
will be buying.

Hey Dave: As Jay said a 7/8 bolt will most likely work. However, I have found a
few Coupes that would not accept the 7/8 pin in the knee joint. A 3/4 will fit,
or a pin turned down on a lathe to 3/4 inches will work just fine. I am
attaching a picture of my pin laying on my floor jack.

Does anyone have a picture of a jack they use for lifting the main gear to work
on the brakes and or shock assembly.
A picture of a Dilly Jack or a modification to a hydraulic floor jack would be
most helpful
