I voted for "group" as the default because, to me, the term "forum" denotes discourse among many - not private conversations.
However, wouldn't it be nice if this could be set up as the more modern forums are, using V-Bulletin or the like. Then messages wouldn't be recopied many times - necessitating long scrolls through the email digests, which also include various email supplier advertising lines. (Sorry, just a personal rant. I am mainly a lurker and get my Ercoupe "fix" via email. I came here to the actual Yahoo site today only to post in the poll.) Here is a scary thought: I hope the invaluable information contained in these posts has been saved/backed-up somewhere - off site. There is always a possibility that yahoo will discontinue this "free" service on short notice. In these days of corporate uncertainty there are frequent and unexpected changes with little notice. For example, Yahoo just discontinued its Yahoo Publisher Network, which was a revenue avenue for them (evidently not enough of one). --- In [email protected], "Ed Burkhead" <e...@...> wrote: > > > > In order to minimize personal notes and "me too" messages on the forum, we > have long kept the forum set so hitting <reply> will just send the response > to the originator of a message - NOT to the whole forum. > > For me, I find it very easy to keep an easy to type name in my address book > for the forum.
