I do not have a sliding sunshield. When I replaced my sliding windows, I put in green tinted glass. This has worked very well and I do not have to dodge the sunscreen. When it is too hot here in CenTex, I open the windows. I also wear non-polarized amber sun glasses and a ballcap. I will put the ballcap on backwards sometimes, but most of the time I have no problems keeping it on if the peak is forward. I think the taller people in the group have had hats blown off in the slipstream. I would bet that two pieces of that plastic that sticks through static cling would help those without a visor or tinted window. 6 innches either side of the opening would likely help cool things off and you would not have to remove it when you slide the windows down if you do not push them all the way to the stops.
