I just replaced mine with a new rubber.  The old rubber was shrunken and 
hardened, someone had put sheet metal screws thru it to hold it down to the 
cowling.
Lacking any instructions, I decided to glue the new rubber to the windshield in 
spots, to keep it from changing position, I did not glue it to the cowling.  
Seems to be working quite good that way.  The new rubber from Skyport is quite 
inexpensive and very easy to install.
