All, The location of the banquet on Saturday night will now probably be the Holiday Inn ballroom in Mount Vernon, IL. For those of you staying in any of the motels in Mount Vernon, this is a very convenient location. There will be shuttles running from the airport to the motels near Interstate 57 all the time, so access will be easy.
Thanks to the efforts of Bert Hampton, it looks like we will have the opportunity to fly by the famous St. Louis Gateway Arch, and we will have a helicopter hovering to take a photo of your airplane flying over the Arch. This will be coordinated with St. Louis Approach, allowing us safe passage through the controlled St. Louis airspace. More information as this comes together. We will fly there in trail, do our fly-by, then possibly land at a local airport for lunch. This will be on Friday. Plan accordingly! If you have any questions about the upcoming convention, please email me. Just a heads up, I will be traveling the entire month of June, so there may be some gaps in my email access. I am returning home July 6, so after that I will be on it full force. I will have some informational flyers at the Ercoupe table in the Type Club hangar ot Airventure, also.
