Hi Don,

Concerning those bolts you just removed, if they look like the one on 
the left in the attached picture, I removed those some years ago and 
replaced them with new hardware.  I think it was Lee at Skyport that 
sent me new replacement bolts which now had a more user friendly hex 
head.  You might check with them, it might make the job a little easier.

For what it's worth, though not magic, Corrosion X has helped me a time 
or two to loosen stuff up.

While on the subject, I think someone asked a while ago how we compress 
the stack when servicing the main struts.  If you don't have access to 
the more civilized techniques suggested, the tool on the right side of 
the attached pic is what I built and use to remove and replace the 
donuts.
