Hey Chris: Before you cut any of those holes, take another look at the drawing that is showing the hole locations in Service Bulletin 29C. You will not find any of the 17 holes in the aileron. Lynn Nelsen In a message dated 6/4/2010 4:28:54 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
I am going to begin the “swiss cheese” hole cutting in the bottom of the metal wings of my 415C (#2324) project to inspect for corrosion. I remember some dialog about cutting the holes in the wing or the center section and to be careful not to cut the underlying structure. Looking at SB-29C I see there are also 5 holes in each aileron. I have looked at a few coupes and have some pictures of completed SB-29. None of them have the aileron holes. Any insight from the group would be appreciated. Chris 99674 “Maybe flying this year”
