Dennis, My wife and I flew from Independence, Oregon to eastern Kansas in our 415C a couple of years ago. It was a wonderful late summer trip. We crossed the divide just south of Glacier National Park over Marias Pass at 8500 feet. That was the highest altitude we reached on the entire trip.
We spent the next day and night in Lewistown, MT and enjoyed their chokeberry festival. We learned that no matter how close the airport is to town, in Montanna one can not walk that distance. That's because someone is going to stop and insist you ride along with them! And you will find out about the best place to eat the town's evening activities. Email me offline if you would like to hear more about our trip.
