The S-W gauges are fine. Your mechanic needs to familiarize himself with CAR-3. There was no requirement for TSO/PMA equipment in the the Ercoupe or Alon. See Required Equipment on page 5 or TCDS A-787. Also have him look at the following information on Ed Burkhead's website:
