I've restored many aircraft and you are correct in saying new is better.
BUT-Where do I get a new Spartan Executive or a Staggerwing? When you restore
a piece of art it's not for everyday use, it's for special time use (A show
and tell sort of thing) , It all depends what you may call restore.
Kermit Weeks in Florida does not use his restorations for every day use. I
have restored my coupe to excellent flying condition but I would not
consider it a ("Full Blown Restoration")
I've never seen a "Fully Restored Ercoupe" -The way it left the factory,
