Just a quick update on the status of our testing. We think the radio problem is related to a bad connection on one of the BNC connectors and will be flight testing with a new antenna cable later today. Vince took the Transponder to the avionics lab at A.I.M. in Dallas where he instructs and had them bench-test it. Their verdict is that it had some fried transistors internally, could be repaired, but isn't worth it. Once again, I've decided to go "cutting edge" and replace the transponder with a Trig TT21 Mode S Class 2 transponder, which when hooked to my Garmin 396 will give me ADS-B out and TIS. It was only $100 more than the Garmin 327 mode A/C I was looking at from Spruce. Finally, we are finishing up baffle upgraded today which will hopefully improve airflow and reduce the oil temps we've been seeing.
Progress continues, hope to see many at KOSH! Dave
