Hey Peter: If you have an engine hoist, or a come a long that you can rig to the hangar beams, you can change them fairly easily. You need to loosen all of them and then take out the lower bushings/bolts replace the bushings/bolts and then do the uppers. You will not be able to get it done without some sort of rig to take the weight of the engine. If you have a good hoist, you can do them all at once. It is difficult with all the cowling in place - I have never done it with the cowling on. Lynn Nelsen In a message dated 7/6/2010 12:19:52 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
I have and Ercoupe 415CD #4814, 1947, (C-FFFD) with a C75-12F Continental engine I need to change out the rubber bushings at the engine mount bolts. That's the engine to engine mount. I have the bushings. Is there any secrets??? I'm told to remove the upper bolts and allow the engine to lean forward enough to make the change. Not sure about the lower bolts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
