Taylor, A SHARP discharge in the amp meter descxribes a laarge load on the system. :
L:anding lights/ Nav lights on ? Turn off lights Short in the regulator/ generator (not likely) ? remove the Battery Wire from the Gen and see if this fixes the problem. If so, then check the regulastor for sticking. Insulation on wiring worn thru at some place in the wiring system. If the Battery was still able to start the engine, perhaps the guage is faulty. Remove the lead from the battery side and see oif this fixes the problem.... Be careful with all these as sparks or short can cause a fire. Good luck. Ran up to 2100RPM with nothing on but the radio and got no positive indication. Where do you start to sort out what the source of the problem is. Cigarette lighter plug in voltmeter shows 11.2 volts. 1966 Alon Aircoupe with a C90 16F. Has generator not alternator system.
