I tried to put the STC for the new master cylinder on my 415C last year. It
was a real neta installtion and I was impressed with it. But I worked on it
for months and never could get it to work. I never figured out why but I hed
the master cylinder tested by the manufactuer and they said it was Okay. With
new pads and the old master cylinder with new O-rings in it my Cleveland brakes
work great.

One of the things I found in all my work on the brakes is that it is VERY
important for the new master cylinder piston rod to be allowed to come all the
way back. It is in the last 1/8 of an inch travel that it vents the system.
You need to be sure to adjust the travel of the brake pedal and if necessary
the length of the cable if you have one to make sure the master cylinder is not
forced down when there is no pressure on the pedal.

By the way, the Skyport STCed master cylidner is a Matco MC-4G and you can go
to the Matco website and download a free maintenance, assembly, and checkout
manual for it.

Also, while you are at it, remove that combined hose and aluminum tubing that
goes back to the "T fitting by the spar and put in a new piece of aircraft
hose. The AL tubing tends to flex where it connects to the hose when you step
on the brakes and will eventually spring a leak.

Good Luck!
