Trim tabs are a fact of life. My coupe came with one on each wing and on one rudder. Now it flys with none.
If you had checked out the Cessna Sky Catcher when it was at Oshkosh you would have seen a trim tab on it also. Unlike the Ercoupe with its riveted trailing edge, the trailing edge of the Sky Catcher wings are rounded and not easily adjusted.
