Hi Mick,the colors of the editor are determined by the syntax highlighters when it contains some supported source code. To change these please open the configuration dialog, Editor->Highlighter Styles page and select the programming language to be changed.

The background on the code edit window is light grey. My eyesight is not what is was and it would be easier for me if I could change it to a white background but I cannot see how to do that.I have looked at Settings > Preferences > Editor > Style and found many things I can change but cannot see how to change the background.
