The problem might be with QScintilla 1, which is used by eric3. Eric3 doesn't handle the keys inside the editor itself. As far as I know Phil changed something in this area in the latest QScintilla2 release. Is it an option for to change to eric4? Btw, eric 3.9.1 is really old.
