Hi,

if both Qt variants are present, eric prefers Qt5. Unfortunately the version is 
too old on Mint 
17.1. You can force the install script to use PyQt4/Qt4 by using the 
commandline parameter '--
pyqt=4' (i.e. python3 install.py --pyqt4=4).
