I switch between two projects. Both were originally set up with Eric 4 and they both use Mercurial with a remote repository on bitbucket. The use of Mercurial may be significant as the actions showing up in the messages are all to do with menu items in the sub menus of Project -> Version Control menu, e.g., Project -> Version Control -> Manage Changes -> Revert Changes, or Project -> Version Control -> Changegroup Management -> Create Changegroup ...
