To Brad and Vlad.

I installed with no parameter on the config, so it went into my /usr/
local/... tree
In that tree I have erts-5.5.5.

The issue I believe was a failed darwinports version I installed
before downloading the E11B-5 and config-make-make installing
manually. I have uninstalled the darwinports and ensured my shell has
the path including /usr/local/bin so erl starts from the command
prompt from anywhere.

I now get erl 5.5.5!

However, the Erlide still hangs.

I killed epmd and restarted with -d -d -d, result is:

[Tim-Carpenters-Desktop:~] timsdesk% epmd -d -d -d

while Eclipse hangs with the same error:

*** starting Erlide v0.3.29 ***

It might also be that my ERL_TOP is not correctly set. I did search
the entire eclipse-3-2-2 directory tree for erl_top to see if it was
using the wrong/old/broken home parameter, but to no avail. I suspect
this might now be wrong. Any ideas to fix/confirm it (of course,
Eclipse is not working).

What would also be good is an idea of how I could recompile the
Erlide components under 5.5.5 which I believe Brad suggested could be
a fix to this issue.

Grtful for any suggestions on how to move forward.

Thanks in advance
T
