Hmm, I am wondering if you have a permissions issue?  It seems to fail after
trying to write to /tmp - I would imagine you have perms to write there...
Though you were able to install the erl release successfully...  This is
quite an odd problem.  Wipe the whole thing and try again, keep all the log
files if you can - even from succesful installs of releases like erl.  Send
them out as attachments and I will take a hard look at them.  Before you do
make sure everything you are touching from /usr/local/erlware to /tmp is
writable by you.
