Hello All, Torben and I have working quite a bit on the Abstract types for erlware commons. We have made some good progress.
We have a dictionary interface (ec_dictionary) with five individual backend implementations, we have very complete testing for things that implement the dictionary interface. Those tests are reusable by anything that implements this interface. We are working on a talk based on this work for the upcoming Erlang Factory in london.
