I have same problem,

I have changed password ie put some password with same results.
erlyweb is version 0.6.2, mysql is version 5.0.27,
and of course, the beatles are in database :)
something is wrong also with compiling:

- I'm supposing that is same problem - erlyweb can't get connection
with mysql
