Hi John,

I haven't come across this problem before. Could you supply me with the
following details:

- OS (eg Win98SE)
- Service packs (eg SP6a)

Thanks,

Subject: PCI Data Import to ER Mapper 6.1

Hello List:

I am attempting to import PCI .pix format files into ER Mapper 6.1 using
Utilities>Import Image formats>PCI. The files I have attempted so far have
been 27 Gb and 11 Gb. Upon starting the import, ER Mapper, first of all,
rejects the projection saying that it is invalid even though the .pix file
is NAD 27, UTM, Zone 17 N. It then reports: DKError: Invalid argument. I
have attempted this process a few times and it always seems to halt at 2 or
2.5 Gb. If Task Manager is used to terminate the process, ER Mapper will
"dump" the rest of the data. This results in an .ers file that is roughly
the same size as the .pix file but the file is corrupted when viewed using
ER Mapper or ER Viewer. The file can be opened and the top portion appears
to be OK but then the pixels become distorted and the image is duplicated
many times in the image window.

I have had success importing smaller (500 Mb to 1 Gb) .pix files of the same
projection produced in OrthoEngine 7.0 without a problem. Is there a file
size limitation on the translator?
