Dear List,

I have made a series of unsupervised classifications from various geographic
substrata of a Landsat ETM scene, and would now like to combine them into a
single classification map. Here's the story so far:

* Each stratum (there are three) has been independently classified,
producing between 78 and 113 spectral clusters per stratum.

* I've re-named each spectral cluster into an information class using "Edit
Class/Region Color and Name", producing the same 20 or so classes for each
stratum. Obviously, the original class numbers don't necessarily match the
same information classes from stratum to stratum.

* I'd now like to recombine the three strata back into a single image, using
the renamed information classes and NOT the original class numbers.

How best to do it? Please don't say that I have to come up with formulae for
each spectral cluster that says "if i1=77 then 15 else null" and so on...

Thanks in advance,
